Staff Selection Commission will organize an open competitive exam on 14/04/2013 and 21/04/2013,  for the recruitment to the following posts in various Ministries/Departments by selecting/ screening the candidates for the Main Examination.The post details are :

1. Inspectors of Income Tax / Inspector (Central Excise) / Inspector (Preventive Officer) / Inspector (Examiner) in Custom Houses (Group B Non-Gazetted) in the pay band of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/-
2. Assistants (CSS) in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4600/- for Central Govt. Ministries/ Departments
3. Assistants in other Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ CVC etc. other than CSS cadre in the pay band of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
4. Inspector of Posts (Group B Non-Gazetted) in pay band of Rs. Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-

Educational Qualification: A Graduation degree in any discipline from any recognised University. (ii) Statistics/ Mathematics / Economics / Commerce subjects in Graduation for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr.II (iii) Bachelor's Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory of Elective subject. For the posts of Assistants (CSS), Computer Proficiency has been prescribed as an essential qualification.
 
Age Norms: (i) 18-27 years as on for Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector (Central Excise)/ Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/ Inspector of Posts / Ass.. Enforcement Officer and Divisional Accountants / Auditors /UDCs/ Tax Assistants (ii) 20 to 27 years as on for posts of Assistants and Sub-inspectors in CBI. (iii) 26 years for Statistical Investigators Gr.II. Usual age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PH/ExS etc. as per Govt. norms.)

Application Fee: A fee of Rs. 100/- is payable in the shape of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)" (No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women and Ex-Serviceman candidates).These stamps can be availed from the counter of all Departmental Post Offices throughout the nation. Candidates  applying online, should pay fee in the branches of SBI through payment challans which can be printed online and can be accessed at the site given at the bottom of this page. Completed applications must reach before  15/02/2013 (5PM) for offline mode, (deadline is 22/02/2013 for candidates from remote areas only.)

Application Instruction : Candidates can either  apply Offline through the application form or Apply Online from the SSC website (Print challan and Pay fee st SBI in this mode of applying) at http://www.ssconline.nic.in or at http://ssconline2.gov.in from 19/01/2013 to 13/02/2013 for Part-I registration and up to 15/02/2013 for Part-II Registration.No application would be entertained after the above mentioned deadlines.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2011 on 18th September, 2011 for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air force Academy for the Courses commencing in July, 2012 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the courses (Men and Women) commencing in October, 2012.

1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradoon : 250 posts
2. Naval Academy, Goa : 40 posts
3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad : 32 posts
4. Officers Training Academy , Chennai : 175 posts
5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Women) : 25 posts

Conditions of Eligibility

(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

1. For Indian Military Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible.
2. For Naval Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1990 (2nd January, 1988 in case of NCC Naval wing 'C' certificate holders) and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible.
3. For Air Force Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible.
4. For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible.
5. For Officers Training Academy - SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course : (a) Unmarried Women, issue less widows who have not remarried, and issue less divorcees (in possession of divorcee documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1993.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

1. For Indian Military Academy and Officers' Training Academy : Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.
2. For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering(B.E)
4. Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates.

(C) Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2011 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: Interested candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination held time to time, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against a cash payment of Rs. 20/-. OR candidates can also apply online UPSC website through online application form.

Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. Fee exemption in case of SC/ST candidates only. OBC candidates are required to pay the full fees. Candidates who are applying online, required to pay Rs.50/- either in any branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking of SBI or by using Credit/ Debit card.

How to Apply : Offline - All applicants must reach the "Controller of Examination, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur house, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi - 110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by Courier, on or before 06/06/2011.
